Empowering the Next Generation of Artists

Art has the power to inspire, connect, and transform communities. The Scott J. Seeburger Young Artist Award was created to recognize and support emerging talent in Saginaw County, ensuring that young creatives have the resources they need to grow and thrive.

This annual award honors outstanding artists ages 17–30 across the visual, performing, literary, and digital arts, providing a $1,000 grant to help them further develop their skills and artistic journey. Whether through education, new projects, or professional opportunities, this award is a stepping stone for the next generation of creators shaping the future of the arts. Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must reside in Saginaw County
  • 17 – 30 years of age at time of application
  • Submit:
    • Cover letter outlining your intent and vision, goals and commitment to practicing your art. (Not to exceed two pages.)
    • Evidence of creation or performance – photos, video links, social media, C.V., other
    • Letter of recommendation (Not to exceed three.)

Deadline to Apply: March 15 of the award year, submitted to the Saginaw Arts and Enrichment Commission.

Award Presentation: All Area Arts Awards, held each May.
