Who We Are: What We Do
Since the Commission’s inception in 1986, its programs and art advocacy have grown yet its mission remains clear… to provide programs and services which address areas such as: access to arts and cultural opportunities for at risk youth, arts education, audience development, diversifying and leveraging funding sources, and economic development.
Today, the Commission is proud to host and organize numerous art exhibitions, special events, advocacy programs and to serve as the Region 5 regranting agency for the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. The Commission relies solely on funding from the community, foundations, Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and income from memberships and special events to support its many services, programs and events.
The Commission is proud of the many contributions it has made to the quality of life in Saginaw and the Great Lakes Bay Region.
